What does “FIT-certified” really mean when a certified translation is required?
This week, a client asked me whether I was “FIT-certified.” The question came from a requirement issued by Alliance Physical Therapy (Canada) , which states that when a translation is prepared outside Canada, the translator must belong to a professional association affiliated with the International Federation of Translators (FIT) .
